Earn, Learn, and Lunch – HACC’s Commitment to Supporting Cook County Households

By

Nearly 50 residents of the Country Club Hills Wellness Center attended the Earn, Learn, and Lunch event this Wednesday afternoon. Organized by HACC, this event featured a wide menu of local organizations offering services to residents. Attendees included Employment and Employer Services, South Suburban College, CEDA, Cook County Health, and PCs for People. Despite the drizzle, guests and vendors made meaningful connections.

In addition to a catered lunch, guests entered into raffles to win a variety of gift cards, generously donated by Turnstone Development Corporation and South Suburban College. One $1000 scholarship to South Suburban College was also on offer to guests interested in continuing their education.

The Country Club Hills Wellness Center serves over 70 families and households who are exiting homelessness. On-site supportive services are provided by South Suburban PADS, and HACC provides project-based voucher subsidies to help families remain stably housed. Events like the Earn, Learn, and Lunch are part of HACC’s commitment to supporting Cook County households and families with complex housing needs, and providing them with the tools they need to thrive. We are grateful to Turnstone, South Suburban College, and all of our vendors for their support of this event and their continued collaboration in the Southland.
