HACC is pleased to offer a variety of programs for our residents.

Housing Choice Vouchers

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low-income households afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country.
Family Self-Sufficiency Program

The goal of the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is to assist participants in improving their education and job skills for the purpose of becoming gainfully employed. This is accomplished by encouraging additional education, job training, and more.
Homeownership Program

Eligible HCV families may apply for the Homeownership Program, which allows potential first-time homeowners to apply their vouchers toward mortgage payments.
Community Choice Program

HACC’s Community Choice Program helps families with vouchers move to Opportunity Areas, some of the top performing neighborhoods in suburban Cook County.

Landlords

HACC provides timely rental payments directly to landlords, and adjusts payment amounts based on a family’s level of need, so that renting to voucher-assisted tenants is a secure choice. Learn more about the benefits of participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program as a landlord!
