SUMMARY
Under general direction of the Department responsible for intake of applicants into LIPH and Multifamily Housing Programs, maintenance of waiting lists, resolution of HACC/tenant leasing issues, and adherence to HUD and IHDA requirements/deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manages LIPH and Multifamily Housing Waiting Lists and all activities related to bringing new participants into these programs.
• Provides orientation to prospective tenants regarding HUD rules and regulations.
• Assures HUD regulations are followed, including HACC’s policies and procedures.
• Monitors productivity, efficiency, quality, timeliness and completion of all new applications to achieve maximum utilization.
• Determines income eligibility, performs rent computations on new applications when necessary.
• Answers inquiries regarding applications, revision of admissions policies and procedures.
• Recommends updates and revisions for program policies and procedures to remain current with HUD regulations.
• Performs all duties in accordance with Authority policies.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION
• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent in a related field of study from an accredited college or university
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred
• Tax Credit Specialist Certification
• Blended Occupancy Specialist or Certified Occupancy Specialist Certification
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Extensive knowledge of applicable HUD, PHA regulations, statutes, policies and procedures regarding LIPH or other housing type as determined by the department at the time of job posting
• Extensive knowledge of operating policies and procedures of LIPH and Multifamily Housing Programs.
• Ability to write and develop appropriate policies and procedures for operations and compliance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate in oral and written forms and interact appropriately with the general public, applicants, residents and staff.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Customer relations skills.
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate and timely reports with demonstrated attention to detail.
The hourly wage for this position is $23.04.
