SUMMARY
Under general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of
Human Resources activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal
candidate will have a solid understanding of HR best practices and labor laws, and a passion for supporting a positive and
productive workplace culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recruitment & Onboarding:
• Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
• Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.

Employee Relations:
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support.
• Address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and work to resolve problems in a fair and consistent manner.
• Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and a culture of respect.

Performance Management:
• Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems, including goal setting,
performance appraisals, and employee development plans.
• Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues.

Compliance & Policies:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.

Training & Development:
• Coordinate and deliver training programs on topics such as company policies, HR procedures, and employee
development.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR practices and employee engagement

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong knowledge or HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION
• 3-5 years human resources experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
• Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) Required

EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS OPERATED
• Personal computer and peripherals
• Standard office equipment

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS
• Requires availability to work beyond normal workday
• Work environment consists substantially of indoor office activities performed in a heated/air-conditioned setting
• Position requires the need to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Requires stooping, bending, crouching and/or reaching for files or tools
• Frequent repetitive hand movement (e.g. typing)
• May lift, carry and/or push up to 20 pounds
• Appointees will be required to possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable according to agency guidelines only if the
operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
