Freedom’s Path II, located on the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Campus in Hines IL is privately owned and operated. Residents of this development are required to pay 30% of their income in rent while the HACC subsidizes the remainder. Freedom’s Path II is an affordable housing community with fully furnished studio project-based voucher (PBV) units.
Eligibility
Veterans of the U.S. Military receive preference for the PBV units. Located on the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Campus, this property is ideal for veterans, allowing easy access to the many services provided. Applicants currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list will also receive preference over other applicants.

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low income persons afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Housing Authority of Cook County (the HACC) is the housing agency that administers an HCV Program in Suburban Cook County.
