Public Housing and PBRA residents pay 30% of their income and HACC subsidizes the rest.
Wisdom Village of Calumet Park is privately owned and operated. Residents of this development are required to pay 30% of their income in rent and the HACC subsidizes the remainder of the rent to the owner. Wisdom Village of Calumet Park offers one and two bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units in a senior housing community serving people 55 years of age and older. To be eligible for Wisdom Village PBV units, applicants MUST be 55 years of age or older and have income that does not exceed 50% of the AMI. Preference will be given to applicants who are currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher Program tenant-based wait list.

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low income persons afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Housing Authority of Cook County (the HACC) is the housing agency that administers an HCV Program in Suburban Cook County.
