Mount Prospect Horizon is privately owned and operated. Residents of this development pay 30% of his/her income towards the rent and the HACC subsidizes the remainder of the rent to the owner. Mount Prospect Horizon is a senior housing community serving people 62 years of age and older with one bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units. To be eligible for Mount Prospect Horizon, applicants MUST be 62 years of age or older and have income that does not exceed 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Preference will be given to applicants who are currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher Program tenant-based wait list.

Project Based Voucher

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low income persons afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Housing Authority of Cook County (the HACC) is the housing agency that administers an HCV Program in Suburban Cook County.
