The Housing Authority of Cook County Hosts Inaugural Landlord Seminar

HACC in the Community

(Chicago, IL) – Today, the Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) hosted its 2019 Landlord Seminar. An inaugural event for HACC, this day-long event is the first of a planned series of annual seminars aimed at connecting landlords and properties owners with HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.

“Connecting our residents to safe, decent and affordable housing is at the core of the Housing Authority of Cook County’s mission,” said Richard Monocchio, HACC Executive Director. “This would not be possible without the partnership of landlords who choose to do business with HACC. We’re excited to launch this inaugural event so that we can provide an extra service to our landlords and hear from them directly. We want to help property owners see financial success, discuss ways to improve the process, and ultimately offer better-quality housing opportunities that support the long-term health and wealth of HACC residents”

Landlords from across suburban Cook County’s 120 communities, as well as collaborators from public and private organizations, were in attendance to hear from specialists from throughout the affordable housing sector.

Special opportunities for landlords only available through HACC were also presented by the Community Choice Program Team.

“I liked everything about the seminar,” relayed one participant. “The wide scope of topics were extremely informative. In particular, the presentations going over the nuts and bolts of the HCV program and HACC’s Community Choice Program were especially helpful.”
