County planning low-income veterans housing complex for Chicago Heights

Housing News

Housing in Chicago Heights for low-income veterans is being provided by Cook County through a loan program that aims to reduce homelessness in vulnerable communities.

The 82 apartment units will be developed by the Housing Authority of Cook County, and the four-story building, at 15th Street and Otto Boulevard, will include an exercise room, computer/media room as well as raised planting beds for community gardens, according to the housing authority.

The project is part of $4.25 million in funding for low-income housing in suburban Cook County announced last week.
