The Southwick Apartments is privately owned and operated. Residents of this development are required to pay 30% of their income in rent while the HACC subsidizes the remainder. The Southwick Apartments is a permanent supportive housing community with studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units. The units at the Southwick Apartments are fully accessible and the building is barrier free. To be eligible for the Southwick Apartments, applicants MUST have a disability. Preference will be given to applicants who would most benefit from the features of the accessible units. Applicants currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list who would benefit from the features of the accessible units will also receive a preference over other applicants.

Project Based Voucher

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low income persons afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Housing Authority of Cook County (the HACC) is the housing agency that administers an HCV Program in Suburban Cook County.
