The Housing Authority of Cook County Launches beWELL Website to Benefit Residents of Cook County

November 14, 2018 |

(Cook County, IL) – Today, in collaboration with Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle’s roll-out of the “Policy Roadmap: Five-Year Strategic Plan for Offices Under the President,” the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC), Richard Monocchio, announced the official launch of “beWELL: WORK. EARN. LIVE. LEARN. A Cook County Guide.”

beWELL is a comprehensive, web resource for growth from infancy to working adult. The goal of the site is to provide a path for individuals and families to Work, Earn, Live and Learn. Whether family members are preparing to welcome a new addition, looking for a higher-wage job, or researching financial aid options for college, beWELL is a one-stop-shop for the educational, occupational and supportive resources suburban Cook County residents need to accomplish their goals.

beWELL is broken down into three phases:

1.)           Early Learning, 0-5 years old

2.)           School Age, 6-17 years old

3.)           Adults, 18+ years old

Each phase is reflected in its own category on the website. Within each phase, age-specific resources are available for residents to explore. For example, information about preschool options is available in “Early Learning,” summer camp information is highlighted in “School Age,” and apprenticeship opportunities are emphasized in “Adults.”

“This new website is meant to act as a guide for HACC residents, and all of suburban Cook County, wherever they might be in life right now,” said Richard Monocchio. “By congregating helpful resources in one place, we have created a pathway to a better future for HACC Program Participants and all of suburban Cook County,” he continued.

All Cook County residents are invited to explore the site at http://beWELL.thehacc.org
