New Hope Apartments is a permanent supportive housing community offering one bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units. To be eligible for the New Hope Apartments, applicants MUST have a disability. Preference will be given to applicants who are eligible and would most benefit from the supportive services provided on site which are funded through the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities under Intermittent CILA services. The services will be provided by New Star, Inc., a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to challenging the limits and changing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and are designed to increase the person’s skills and knowledge which will enable them to live with greater independence in the community. These services may include direct help with daily living activities, cooking/meal preparation, medication management, money management, job coaching, helping to build networks of support, and navigating the transportation system.
Applicants who qualify for this preference should check “prefbene” on the Preference Page of the application. Applicants currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list will also receive a preference over other applicants. The household total annual income may not exceed 50% of the area median income (AMI). The maximum number of occupants in the one bedroom units is two people.
