Myers Place is privately owned and operated. Residents of this development pay 30% of his/her income towards the rent and the HACC subsidizes the remainder of the rent to the owner. Myers Place is a permanent supportive housing community offering studio and one bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units. Myers Place offers supportive services through its partnership with the Kenneth Young Center, a community based mental health provider. To be eligible for Myers Place, applicants MUST be disabled. Preference will be given to applicants who would most benefit from the supportive services provided on site, which include help with medication monitoring, mental illness and substance abuse symptom management, harm reduction and recovery services, and skill building in the areas of independent community living and benefits assistance. Applicants currently on the HACC’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list will also receive a preference over other applicants.

Project Based Voucher

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rental assistance to help low income persons afford decent and safe rental housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Housing Authority of Cook County (the HACC) is the housing agency that administers an HCV Program in Suburban Cook County.
